Paper Plate Rainbow Craft

Once upon a time, many moons ago, I looked outside my window, and a foreign, yellow, round object shone brightly in the sky.

I’m not sure what it was called, maybe ….. sun? It inspired me to make this rainbow craft with my kids.

It has been raining for years here. Okay, maybe not years, but it feels like DECADES.

“When will the rain stop?” one wonders every morning, sipping hot coffee and contemplating moving to a warmer, sunnier state … or country.

(I didn’t say I was the one wondering this, but I’m 100% sure someone is.)

The best thing about rain is the rainbow!

I love rainbows. I love they represent God’s promise to us. Also, I love that I call my daughter our rainbow baby (a child born after the loss of another child is sometimes referred to as a rainbow baby.)

It was only fitting with all the rain and the presence of my rainbow baby that we created a rainbow craft during our 7-Day Paper Plate Crafting challenge!

This one is sooooooo easy and fun! I found this craft over at Messy Little Monster.

The materials you need for this rainbow craft are as follows:

  • half of a paper plate
  • paint in the colors: blue, green, yellow, orange, and red
  • paint brush
  • cotton balls
  • glue

First step: draw lines on your paper plate to create the outline of your rainbow.

Second step: paint the colors on the rainbow!

Third step: allow the rainbow time to dry, then glue the cotton balls onto it.

Easy Peasy!

We have since added to our paper-plate craft arsenal. I have yet to get them up on the blog. BUT you can see them all on our Instagram Page! Be sure to follow so you don’t miss any fun crafts we do in the future!

Viola!! You’re done with your rainbow craft!

This is an easy and fun craft; you may want to make more than one!
