easy lion craft

This easy lion craft is perfect for your next animal unit.

Does your child love lions or zoo animals? Miss B’s favorite animal is a Cheetah. She also loves to make crafts. We have made so many paper plate animals, our craft closet has a big stack of them! Going to visit the zoo? Learning about wild animals? Does your child love cats? This simple paper plate lion craft is for you!

The materials you will need to make this roarsome lion!

  • paper plate
  • yellow and orange paint
  • paint brush
  • scissors
  • googly eyes
  • black marker

First paint your paper plate! Paint the inner circle yellow and the rim orange.

Let Your paper plate dry!

Once your lion is dry. Cut the mane.

This is great cutting practice for little fingers! Miss S was adorable while she was cutting her mane. She kept saying “cut then move. cut then move” until she was finished.

Glue the googly eyes onto your lion and add the whiskers, mouth and nose. There you go!

A roarsome lion for your kiddo!

Did you make this lion craft? I want to see it!
