Who am I?

Hi! Welcome to the Peaceful Nest. I am Jenna, a mom of three little girls who are forever keeping me on my toes, a sweet boy, and a precious boy in heaven. I am a freelance writer, blogger and advocate for creating a peaceful home life and helping others learn to live peacefully after tragedy. Aside from running the Peaceful Nest Blog, I home school my littles and work from home! I have my Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and I am currently working on my Master’s in Positive Psychology.

So I guess you could say I am a go-getter who is constantly looking for great opportunities.

I love reading and writing but not as much as I love coffee. I survive on caffeine. Seriously, if I was stranded on a desert island and could only take one thing, it would be a lifetime supply of coffee.

I could use that coffee to fuel me while I came up with an action plan to get off the island. (Gotta think outside of the box right? Best way to do that is fueled with caffeine and determination.)

I love to create, craft and journal. The most important thing to me is my family. I live a calm and peaceful life and I wouldn’t want it any other way!

I also desire to help people. My desire is to help people create peace in their homes and families and overcome difficult tragedies that arise in their lives by offering hope.

Along with my two littles, I have a son who passed away when he was six days old. Several years after our son’s death my husband and I co-wrote Faith Actually: Living Life After Tragedy. Where we share our experience of our son’s death, our grief, and learning to live after loss.

We wrote Faith Actually as a way to help families and individuals who have gone through the turmoil of a tragic loss.

The Peaceful Nest Blog

The Peaceful Nest Blog is a passion project of mine. A lifestyle blog if you want to label it. I needed a creative outlet as a stay at home mom. Plus, I wanted to share what I have learned about creating a peaceful home! You will be able to find tips and advice on creating a peaceful home life for your family and becoming a peaceful parent. I also provide activity ideas for you to use with your young child and home school advice and hope for those in the midst of grief.
