As I looked for ideas for snacks that would pair with our curriculum, I came across the idea of making an animal-track snack. This idea is super easy to make and can be customized to your family’s liking!
Here is how we made our animal track snack for kids
Animal Track Snack
What you need:
- Crackers (we used Ritz)
- Peanut butter
- Pretzels
How to prepare:
Simply spread the peanut butter over the Ritz crackers. Then, break the pretzels into one-third or one-half and place the pretzels on top of the peanut butter to create what looks like animal tracks.
Easy peasy, which is what we love in our homeschool!
Great food ideas for animal tracks:
- Peanut butter
- Pretzels
- Ritz crackers
- Saltine crackers
- Graham crackers
- Cheese sticks
- Raisins
- Cream cheese
- Whipped cream
Basically, all you need is something as the base. Crackers work great for this, but you can also use bread, tortillas, etc. You also need the sticky surface to represent the ground, mud, snow, and grass; use your imagination! Then, some type of snacky food to represent the tracks can vary depending on the combinations you are going for. Don’t be afraid to get creative; kids love the idea, and most don’t care about perfection!
