This Week’s Show Notes:

Is God’s Peace Possible in Today’s Society?

Last week we talked about where our peace comes from. True peace only comes from God, and this week we ask the question: Is God’s peace possible in today’s society?

When we try to do everything on our own as moms, we will become overwhelmed and burnt out.

We can only start creating a peaceful home for our family when we give our lives and household over to God.

As a mom today, we hear so many opinions on who we need to be as a mom.

  • We need to have it all together.
  • Help our husbands provide.
  • Have a career.
  • The perfect children.
  • Don’t mess up. Otherwise, that means you are a terrible mom.

The standards the world has for moms can feel draining.

But God doesn’t have these same standards.

He asks us to come to us with our burdens.

Lay them at his feet.

He asks us to have a relationship with him. He will give us his peace.

Yes, God’s peace is absolutely possible in today’s society.

When we look outside of the world to tell us who we need to be as moms. And look into the word of God to help us learn who he created us to be.

The world tells us to be busy: God tells us to rest.

And The world tells us to be perfect: God tells us His grace is sufficient.

The world tells us to raise perfect children: God tells us to direct their paths, and they will not depart, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have trials.

The world tells us that we must have it all together to be a good mom.

God tells us that we don’t have to have anything altogether; we just need to love our children. He will guide our steps for the rest.

God’s peace is the only peace that can help us create a peaceful home. To obtain this peace, we need to be in the word of God. I know it can be hard as a mom with small children, but even 5 minutes, or putting on worship music, training our minds to think about God. He says to meditate on his word day and night. This is the best way to guard our minds against what society wants to steal from us.

Return next week when we start a series of practical tips for finding peace in everyday motherhood.
