Take a look at this spring bunny puppet.
Do you love spring? We love spring in our house! What we love most are making a spring craft.
My girls absolutely love anything that get their creative juices flowing. I was inspired by One Little Projects paper bunnies. But my girls wanted to take it just a step further, so we created this adorable spring bunny puppet.
Not only are these bunny puppets adorable, they are super simple to make as well.
Here are the items you will need:
- Construction paper or card stock
- Scissors
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Popsicle sticks
- A black marker or pen
- A pink marker or highlighter
You can either leave the puppets as is, or you can add a little “stage” for them to sit in.
To make the “stage” you will need:
- Blue and green paint
- paint brush
- two paper plates
- stapler
- green Easter grass or construction paper
First start by tracing your child’s hand.
Next, cut the paper tracing out.
While I was cutting, I just went ahead and cut the middle finger out. You can do this step while you are cutting (it was easier for me) or afterwards.
After you cut your paper hands out, draw the bunny face, ears, and feet!
Then glue your bunny to the front of a popsicle stick.
Fold the thumb and small fingers down to look like hands. You may need to cut a slit in between the pinky finger and hand, like I did below. Also, turns out my daughter’s fingers are crazy long and I had to trim the paper finger down a bit.
Glue the cotton ball to the back of your bunny. Now he has a tail!
To make the stage for your bunny, cut a paper plate in half.
Paint the outside of the paper plate half green for the grass.
Next, paint the inside of a whole paper plate blue.
Wait for the paper plates to dry.
After the paper plates are dry, staple the green half to the outside of your blue paper plate like this.
Grab your green Easter grass. If you don’t have Easter grass, construction paper will work!
Then stuff the green grass in between the green paper plate and blue. The “stage” will start to look like a ground and sky.
Stick your paper plate bunnies inside and enjoy!
