Have you ever had that moment where you just don’t feel like an adult?

It’s as though one day, you went to bed as a 10-year-old child, then woke up, and now you’re 31 with a mortgage, two kids, a house to manage, and a stack of bills to pay?

Okay, obviously, it didn’t happen that quickly, but sometimes I feel like I’m Jennifer Garner from 13 going on 30.

There’s so much responsibility that comes with being a mom and wife. How do I maintain it all?

Since being in this role, I have developed a bad habit of putting all the responsibility on myself. When I come up short I beat myself up.

I have slowly been learning to let things go. Focus on the most important aspects of our lives and go from there.

Because of this, I created a free planner for moms like me who want to create a peaceful home but let the stress of never having it all together defeat them because who really ever has it together? The best we can do is plan for peace and roll with the punches, right? If you want your free planner, you can get it below!

My main focus is on creating a peaceful home life for me and my family. I want to be a peaceful mom.

A home we can thrive in. I want to develop a place where my children can learn and grow. And a place my husband loves to unwind in.

But how do I do this as a work-from-home mom who has multiple balls she’s juggling?

I do this by implementing the help of multiple tools.

I have a confession to make: I am not the most organized person ever.

The organizational trait missed me when I was developing in my mother’s womb. My husband, on the other hand, loves being organized.

Being married to him has helped me develop habits that are helpful when maintaining a peaceful home.

Over the last several years, I have found tools I cannot live without that help me keep my sanity as a mom and homemaker.

My number one sanity saver will always be coffee. Lots of it. But just in case you are not a coffee drinker, here are several more sanity savers I implement in our daily lives!

Three Section Crockpot

I discovered the three-section crockpot last year after my friend posted online about hers. Instantly, I fell in love with the idea that I could cook several things in one crockpot or with an attachable crockpot.

I can even make lunch AND dinner!

When I got my three-section crockpot, I was ecstatic. I fell even more in love with it.

I use this product several times a week; it is an absolute sanity saver.

There is just something magical about throwing the food in the crockpot, forgetting about it, and having your meals ready a couple of hours later.

Okay to Wake Clock

My daughters wake up with the sun. I am pretty sure they inherited this lovely trait from their father.

I know the old saying says the early bird gets the worm, and I LOVE that this trait will probably benefit them as they grow older.

But I am not a morning person. I don’t talk to me until I have had my second cup of coffee.

I need to have a few minutes alone in the morning before my children come tumbling down the stairs to drink my coffee, enjoy the peace, and gather my wits.

Enter the Okay to Wake Clock.

This clock is an absolute lifesaver!

It is a simple clock that lights up green when it is “okay to wake.”

You can set it to any time you want and simply tell your children it is okay to come out of their rooms when it is green.

If my children wake up early and it’s not yet green, they just do their routine and play in their rooms until it’s okay for them to come out.

It may take a few days for your children to get used to this, but it is 100% worth the training!

The fact that this clock is cute and also has interchangeable faces helps, too.

My Command Center

Do you have a command center in your home?

I’ll be honest; I didn’t know what one was the first time I heard of it. After a little bit of research, I realized I NEEDED a command center in my home.

It is simply an area in your home where you keep all the important information. (Ours is on our wall.)

Ours includes a dry-erase calendar. A menu for the week. It has a place to put our bills, coupons and important papers. I also have a sign that I can hang family birthdays on to serve as a reminder. (Because, yes, I forgot!)

This little area helps because, as I stated before, I am not organized unless I really try at it. I am constantly losing pens and misplacing important papers.

Now I don’t have an excuse. (My husband loves it!)

Routines

Even though I’m not all that organized, in my quest to become organized, I have grown to love routines.

I have routines for myself and for my children. I stick to a certain routine with the kiddos during the day.

When we do this, our whole day goes 100 more smoothly.

They know what to expect and when.

Now, I no longer have to tell them what is on their routine. They have their routine memorized and do it automatically in the mornings when they wake up and in the evenings before bed.

Download the routine we use!

Cool Mist Diffuser

I just discovered cool mist diffusers.

I love mine.

We have fur babies, so we are limited in what essential oils we can use. While I’m still learning what I can about the diffuser, I have found it helps promote a sense of calm and peace in our home, which I love!

Excel Worksheet

Excel.

I have a love-hate relationship with Excel.

I use it to help me with our monthly budgeting.

If you have Excel on your computer, I encourage you to check it out. You can implement many different formats to make your life a little bit easier.

  • Budgeting
  • Calendars
  • Lists
  • Tasks
  • Invoices
  • Planners

Excel is 100% a lifesaver when it comes to making budgeting and planning easier for you.

Mom Planner

Speaking of planners.

Do you have a mom planner? I love having something I can jot down notes ideas, appointments and more.

This is the one I use. I love that it has stickers on the back for holidays, appointments, etc.

Speaking of planners, I created a new one for 2020 for all those peaceful mommas out there, myself included! You can get your copy below!

It is possible to maintain peace when you have several hats to wear as a mom, and there is no shame in using tools to help you do it!

Life is so much easier for me (and organized, which my husband loves!) when I implement these tools to help me stay on track.

My ultimate goal is always to create a peaceful life for me and my family. I am able to create that peace with the help of these tools!

What tools do you use to help you maintain your sanity as a mom and homemaker?
