Lady Bug Paper Plate Craft
Paper Plates. Who loves them?
I do!! I love the fact that they reduce the amount of dishes I have to do. Also, I love that we can use them in SOOOOO many crafts with the kiddos! Like this lady bug paper plate craft!
When you have three kids who go through craft supplies like they do apple juice, it’s a necessity to find cheap materials for them to express their creativity!
It has been raining cats and dogs here, which means I have had to become creative with our time inside. We have actually stopped allowing so much television in our home (that’s a later post!) and because we don’t have electronics on often, and we can’t go outside, crafting is our go-to activity.
Why not paint on paper plates?
We made TEN paper plate crafts and I cannot wait to share them all with you!
Lady Bug Paper Plate Craft
This one was so simple. Here are the materials you need:
- red paint
- black paint or marker (if you want to add the black, or the wings can just be “closed” and you can paint the entire plate red)
- Black construction paper
- white glue
First step: paint your paper plate red (and black if adding the open wings) and let dry.
Second step: add your black circles
Third step: attach the lady bug head and antennas.
There you go! One simple ladybug paper plate.
I will say Miss B was a little peeved that my ladybug did not have eyes. I, of course, told her she could add eyes to her ladybug, which made her a little happier.
Does your child love ladybugs like mine? Miss B has recently found a new show she loves, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. It’s about a girl who is also a ladybug superhero. Miss B now wants to be a superhero and has told me multiple times she wishes she was a real one. It also helps that the show takes place in Paris, her favorite place.
Who knows, maybe a superhero craft is in our near future!?
Did you make this craft? I want to see it!
