While using Gather Round unit studies, one of our favorite units was the Artist unit! During this unit, we loved making these paint brush snacks for kids. All you need are a few simple ingredients, and before you know it, you’ll have a tasty snack to go with your studies or just for fun!
How to Make Paint Brush Snacks For Kids
Materials
- Rice Krispie treats
- White icing
- Food coloring
- Spatula
- Bamboo sticks or shish kabob skits
Instructions
The first step is to separate the icing into different bowls. Use as many bowls as different colors you want to make. We did pink, purple, green, and blue.
Mix the food coloring and icing.
Next, open up the Rice Krispie treat packages.
Then, stick the bamboo sticks into the end of the Rice Krispie treats to make them look like paintbrushes.
Lastly, dip or spread the colored icing onto each rice krispie treat.
That’s it! Enjoy your sweet treat.
