Who doesn’t love a colorful Jellyfish? That is what makes this pipe cleaner jellyfish adorable!
Especially since it’s made out of a paper plate! This pipe cleaner jellyfish is both easy and fun to make!
Our summer so far has been full of rain, forcing us to find activities to do inside. I thought it would be fun to make paper plate crafts with the kiddos!
We made ten and man did they all turn out so cute!

I was inspired by this post by Arty Crafty Kids to create a jellyfish with the girls.
To make this colorful and oh so cute jellyfish you need the following materials:
- paper plate
- paint
- paint brush
- tape or stapler
- googly eyes or white paper for eyes
- marker
- glue
- pipe cleaners
The first step is to cut the bottom of the paper plate off. This will give you the jellyfish look.
Next, paint the jellyfish however you want! Miss B wanted to paint hers exactly like the example. Miss S’s ended up being a dark brown because she loves to mix colors, ha. We also added glitter. Get creative and make the jelly fish however you’d like!
After your jellyfish dries, glue the paper eyes (or googly eyes) onto the body. We used paper eyes because I couldn’t find big enough googly eyes that were satisfying for me.
Okay, I know that most jellyfish you see will have tissue paper or ribbon tentacles. Here’s the thing, I live with a super neat freak. Mr. Tidy. Sometimes I will save craft supplies MONTHS, then Mr. Tidy will get in my HEAD and convince me that I am saving those supplies for NO REASON which leads to me throwing the supplies out.
Yes you would think I would learn. Maybe this time I really have!
I no longer had the tissue paper, so I improvised. I used what I did have on hand. Pipe cleaners! And I honestly think they turned out so cute!
Attach the pipe cleaners via tape or stapler to the back of the jelly fish. The tape has held very well for me.
There you have it, our pipe cleaner colorful jellyfish!
Did you make this craft? I want to see it!
