For several years of our homeschool journey, we implemented the Gather Round curriculum. One of my favorite aspects of this curriculum is that it is unit studies. Since the curriculum focuses on one specific topic at a time, we were able to explore fun crafts, snacks, and more to personalize the unit study. This fun butterfly snack for kids was a favorite of mine and was so easy to make!
How to Make Butterfly Snacks For Kids
Materials to Gather
- String cheese
- strawberries
- peanut butter sandwich crackers
- ziplock bag
- marker
- pipe cleaners
Instructions
The first step is to put the ziplock bags together. To do this, cut strawberries in fourths. Then, fill half the zip lock bag with strawberries and the other half with peanut butter sandwich crackers. Close the bag.
Next, twist a pipe cleaner around the middle of the ziplock bag until the bag looks like two wings. Bend the ends to look like antennas.
Then, draw a face onto the string cheese and tape it to the middle of the wings.
Now you have a fun and cute butterfly snack for kids!
